Crime News: In a spine-chilling case of deception and brutality, a young man from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, pushed the boundaries of human depravity. He kidnapped and raped a minor girl. Posing as a policeman, the accused managed to manipulate and kidnap the girl, taking her to his home where she was held captive and subjected to horrific abuse. The police have since arrested the suspect, who was also found to have been holding another minor girl captive.

Web of lies

When the girl failed to return, her distraught relative reported the incident to the Government Railway Police (GRP). The officers immediately swung into action, reviewing CCTV footage from the railway station. To their shock, it became evident that the man who took the girl was not a policeman. The footage showed the man leading the girl away.

Grim discovery in Dehradun

Upon receiving the distress call, the girl's family rushed to Haridwar, joining forces with the GRP to locate the missing minor. The investigation led them to Dobhalwala, Patharia Peer in Dehradun. On the night of June 15, the police, following a tip-off and detailed surveillance, raided a house in the area. Their efforts bore fruit as they rescued the abducted minor girl, bringing an end to her horrifying ordeal.

Unveiling another tragedy

During the rescue operation, the police uncovered another chilling revelation. A second minor girl, reported missing from Bahraich, was also found in the suspect's house. This girl had endured a month-long nightmare of continuous abuse at the hands of the accused. Her rescue added another layer of urgency and gravity to the situation, revealing a pattern of predatory behavior by the perpetrator.

The suspect, identified as Arjun Singh Rana, son of Rudra Singh, a resident of Dobhalwala, Patharia Peer, Dehradun, was promptly arrested on the evening of June 15. With mounting evidence and the testimony of the victims, the police registered a case against him. The father of the Hathras minor lodged the formal complaint, ensuring that the legal process against Rana was set into motion.

SP Railway Sarita Dobal, who spearheaded the operation, confirmed the arrest and detailed the events leading up to it. The police are now meticulously compiling evidence to ensure that the accused faces the full force of the law. The case has highlighted the critical need for vigilance and the protection of minors, underscoring the importance of community and police collaboration in preventing such heinous crimes.
