In a tragic turn of events in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, a 30-year-old man allegedly murdered his 26-year-old partner before taking his own life on a railway track, according to police reports on Sunday, July 7. The victims have been identified as Vani Goyal and Vishal Garg. Vani's body was discovered in a hotel room, while Vishal was found deceased on a railway track near Urkura railway station.
The incident came to light after Vani's family, who reside in the Saraswati police station area, filed a missing person report on Saturday. The police received information that led them to Hotel Babylon Inn in the Jail Road area of Raipur, where they found Vani's body on the floor of a hotel room. "Preliminary investigation indicated that she had been beaten and strangled to death," the official said. The exact cause of death will be confirmed by a postmortem report.
Documents and CCTV footage revealed that Vani and Vishal checked into the hotel at around 1:30 pm on Saturday. "Preliminary findings suggest that Garg allegedly murdered Vani before committing suicide. However, the investigation is still ongoing," the police official added.
