Crime News: In a chilling incident in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, a 60-year-old man was arrested for the brutal murder of a woman after a failed rape attempt. The accused, Kamlesh Patel, allegedly killed the woman, dismembered her body, and disposed of the parts on different trains. Police are currently interrogating him to piece together the horrifying details of the crime.

Tragic sequence of events

According to Railway Police Superintendent Santosh Kori, the woman had left her home on June 6 after an argument with her husband. She was at the Ujjain railway station, intending to travel to Mathura, when she encountered Kamlesh Patel. Patel reportedly lured her to his house under false pretenses and spiked her food with sleeping pills. His subsequent attempt to rape her was interrupted when she woke up and began to scream. In a fit of rage, Patel strangled her to death.

Gruesome way of murder

The crime took a further gruesome turn as Patel dismembered the woman’s body to conceal his actions. He placed the severed parts in the Indore-Nagda and Indore-Dehradun passenger trains. On June 9, parts of her body were discovered in Indore, and the hands and feet were found in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, on June 10. The woman's family, concerned by her absence, filed a missing person report on June 12 at the Bilpank police station in Ratlam.

Accused arrested

During their investigation, the police managed to trace the crime back to Kamlesh Patel. They recovered the weapon used in the murder from him. Patel's arrest has brought some closure to the case, but the brutal nature of the crime has left the community in shock.

Another disturbing incident

In a separate but equally disturbing case, a 70-year-old woman was raped at Ujjain railway station. The elderly woman was sleeping on the platform when the accused, a known criminal, abducted her to a nearby railway quarter and committed the heinous act. After the assault, he fled the scene, threatening to kill her if she reported the crime.

The elderly victim, accompanied by her son, reported the incident to the police. Despite the severity of the crime, they faced a long wait before their complaint was registered. The victim, originally from Guna, had come to Ujjain to work as a laborer. The delay in police action has raised concerns about the responsiveness and efficiency of local law enforcement.
