Man brutally kills girlfriend with wrench over alleged cheating, CCTV footage surfaces

New Delhi: A horrific crime has shaken Palghar district, Maharashtra, after a 20-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend in broad daylight on Tuesday morning. The attack, which took place around 8:30 am in the Chinchpada locality of Vasai, was captured on video and circulated on social media.

The disturbing footage shows the complete disregard for human life as the man rapidly attacks the victim with a wrench. Her head can be seen splashing blood as he attacks her continuously without a stop. Till the time she breathed to death the bystanders failing to intervene, rather made the video of the incident.

Argument turns deadly

According to police officials, the victim, Aarti Yadav, was on her way to work with her boyfriend, Rohit Yadav, when they got into an argument. The situation escalated tragically, with Rohit allegedly stabbing Aarti multiple times with a sharp object even as she lay on the ground.

Accused detained, motive revealed

The accused, Rohit, did not flee the scene after the attack. Police arrived to find him near the body. A post-mortem examination revealed 18 wounds on Aarti's body, inflicted with an industrial spanner (wrench), according to senior inspector Jairaj Ranawre of Valiv police.

Investigations revealed that Aarti and Rohit, who lived in the same neighborhood and worked at a local industrial estate, had been in a relationship for six years. However, their relationship was reportedly strained, with Rohit suspecting Aarti of infidelity.

Police take action against bystanders
