INDIA Bloc: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared a strong opposition stance as she proclaimed the INDIA bloc's intention to contest on every Lok Sabha seat, delivering a scathing critique of the Union Government in the process.
Addressing a rally in North 24 Parganas, Banerjee criticised the BJP, asserting that the INDIA bloc is geared up to contest on all seats nationwide.
Taking a swipe at the BJP's electoral promises, Banerjee highlighted her government's longstanding provision of free rations and rebuked the BJP's assurance of five kilograms of rice to the poor, stating her state's consistent efforts since the commencement of her tenure in 2021.
Despite the central government's cessation of funds to West Bengal, Banerjee underlined her state's commitment to sustaining the MGNREGA scheme for 45 days from its own coffers, ensuring livelihood opportunities for the populace.
Enumerating the welfare measures initiated by her government, Banerjee underscored the provisions such as free rations, Swastha Sathi card, Laxmir Bhandar, and the distribution of smart cards for students. She emphasised the empowerment of women through schemes like Kanyashree and financial support for unmarried women of all communities.
Highlighting inclusive scholarship programs, Banerjee detailed schemes for Adivasis, Muslims, and OBCs, showcasing the government's commitment to education and empowerment across diverse communities.
Addressing her party cadre, Banerjee asserted that the Trinamool Congress is dedicated to serving the people and reminded party members that the party is a family of the people. She discouraged arrogance among party members and urged them to stay connected with the public.
Banerjee encouraged party workers to actively engage with the public, fostering a sense of community and solidarity. She stressed the importance of collaboration and service to the people throughout the year, reinforcing the Trinamool Congress' commitment to grassroots governance.
