Mamata Banerjee’s no-show at June 1 INDIA Bloc meeting: What’s really going on?

On June 1, the day of the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the INDIA bloc requested an all-party conference.

Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, announced on Monday that she would not be attending the June 1 INDIA bloc meeting in Delhi because she would be preoccupied with the state elections and with Cyclone Remal. Speaking at an election rally in Kolkata, the leader of the Trinamool Congress stated, that the Indian bloc had previously announced that they will meet on June 1.

This is the reason?

West Bengal will still be holding polls as this is amongts the added reason, just as in a few other states and thus she informed them that  she could not go. With elections on the one hand and a cyclone and relief center on the other, how could she proceed? she asked . "Making sure the folks get relief is my first priority. Although I am doing a meeting here, my heart is with the impacted individuals," she continued.

Poll season is underway!

On June 1, voting will take place in nine West Bengal constituencies, including Kolkata's Dakshin and Uttar districts. During this phase, Mamata Banerjee and her nephew Abhishek will cast ballots. In the state, Jadavpur, Dum Dum, Barasat, Basirhat, Jayanagar, Mathurapur, and Diamond Harbour are among the other constituencies that will be voting. On June 1, the day of the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the INDIA bloc requested an all-party conference, according to sources. Four days before the election results are released, a summit in the nation's capital is scheduled to occur. All alliance partners of the INDIA bloc have been extended an invitation to participate.

According to reports, the purpose of the conference is to examine and deliberate on the coalition's future strategy, taking into account its success in the Lok Sabha elections. After choosing not to participate in seat-sharing negotiations in West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress and state Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury engaged in a savage verbal spat. After the results are released, Mamata Banerjee has stated that she is willing to provide the INDIA bloc outside backing.
