Encounter in Kulgam district (ANI)
At least five terrorists have been killed in an encounter with terrorists in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. It is being told that all these terrorists are associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed. At the same time, the martyrdom of four policemen has been confirmed. On Friday, the body of another policeman was seen through a drone near the site of the first encounter in a remote forest area of the district. Officials gave this information.
5 Terrorists killed in Kathua encounter
Officials said that this is the fourth policeman martyred in the encounter. Security forces have killed three terrorists. They said that heavy firing and loud sounds of explosions were heard on the second day as well. Police, Army and CRPF entered the area from different directions this morning. Officials said that the operation resumed as soon as morning dawned. The main objective of the security forces was to retrieve the bodies of the killed terrorists and policemen, find a missing policeman and eliminate any possible threat in the area.
4 Policemen martyred in duty
He said security forces were moving cautiously as two more terrorists were believed to be hiding there. Earlier they were presumed dead, but their bodies could not be seen by the drone. Officials said the operation against the terrorists near Jakhole village in Ghati Juthana of Rajbagh started at around 8 am on Thursday.
Major breakthrough in Kathua Encounter
The SDPO (a DSP-rank officer) was rescued from the spot in an injured condition late Thursday evening, while his three personal security officers were found dead. The body of a policeman was found this morning.

Apart from the SDPO, three more policemen were admitted to Kathua hospital and their condition is said to be stable. Two army personnel were injured in the operation. The army has deployed sniffer dogs and drones to eliminate the remaining terrorists. Reports say that 9 to 10 terrorists may be hiding here.
