Maintaining ‘decorum key,’ PM tells BJP MPs on Opposition criticism in Parliament

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has advised his BJP MPs to maintain decorum while responding to criticism directed at them by the Opposition leaders.

Here's what PM Modi said to BJP MPs:

Addressing the meeting, PM Modi said, "They are thinking of uprooting the government, and we are thinking of building a nation. Respond to criticism in a language that maintains decorum.”

The prime minister has arrived at the Parliament complex to attend the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday.

Notably, this meeting comes just a day after 92 Opposition MPs were suspended from both Houses of Parliament for protesting and raising slogans over the December 13 Lok Sabha security breach. The Opposition also demanded a firm statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah over this issue.

PM Modi slams INDIA Bloc 

Hitting out at the Opposition alliance, PM Modi said, “INDIA bloc's goal is to throw out our government, but our goal is to create a bright future for the country."

According to Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, "The PM spoke about the Parliament (security breach) incident and said that those who believe in democracy should have condemned this incident, but some parties who lost in recent elections…"

Some parties are in a way voicing support for a security breach in Parliament which is as dangerous as the breach itself, he added.
