In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through Maharashtra's Thane district, local authorities have launched an investigation into a heinous crime involving sexual assault and attempted organ trafficking. The incident, which came to light on June 30, has exposed the dark underbelly of criminal activities in the region.

The primary suspect, identified as Rahul, is reported to use several aliases including Vasim, Chandan, and Kundan Kumar. This practice of adopting multiple identities has raised concerns about the extent of his criminal network and the potential for similar cases to have gone undetected.

Sexual Assault and Trafficking Plot

According to the official First Information Report (FIR), the accused allegedly sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman at his residence in the Nalasopara area. The official stated, "Rahul was apparently in touch with two other women for trafficking the 20-year-old for organ sale."

In a chilling turn of events, the suspect reportedly threatened two female accomplices to proceed with the trafficking plan. "After being threatened by him to get the job done, the two women on Saturday (June 29) took the 20-year-old to a hospital to hand her over to Rahul," the official revealed. Fortunately, this attempt was unsuccessful.

The criminal plot was ultimately foiled when a fourth woman became aware of Rahul's illicit activities. Her brave decision to inform the police led to the registration of a case against the accused.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Based on the complaint received, law enforcement has taken swift action. "Police booked Rahul for rape and human trafficking under Indian Penal Code (IPC)," confirmed the official. The case has been registered, marking the beginning of what promises to be a complex investigation into the alleged crimes.

As the community grapples with the shock of these revelations, authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward. The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges in combating sexual violence and human trafficking, even in seemingly safe neighborhoods.
