Maha Kumbh Mela Kicks Off: Millions Gather for Sacred Bath (X/ @Pratimach_98)
PrayagraJ: The mega MahaKumbh Mela will conclude today on the auspicious day of Maha Shivratri. Thousands of devotees have gathered in the Triveni Sangam to take a final holy dip on the morning of Maha Shivratri. Devotees took bath and offer prayers to Lord Shiva. The whole month of the Maha Kumbh mela witnessed a lot of devotees all around the world including celebrities and politicians from all parts of the country.
Maha Shivratri's Significance at the Kumbh
According to the Indian Mythology Lord Shiva played a key role during the Samudra Manthan. The festival holds great importance as with this the great Mega Maha Kumbh will come to an end. The devotees gathered early hours starting from 3 am and seek blessings from the deity Lord Shiva.
Security Arrangements for the Final ‘Snan’
Considering the occassion, the authorities have beefed up security measures all around the city. Many Police Personnel were deployed all over the banks of the river when the devotees starting walking to offer prayers and for taking the holy bath. Over 37,000 Police force was deployed to maintain the law and order and look after the security arrangements on the final day of the Maha Kumbh Mela.
Travel and Transport Arrangements
Over 1800 CCTV cameras were installed and 50 watch towers were put in place to ensure the safety of the devotees. The whole area was monitored by the authorities 24 hrs. Many officials were also keeping a close eye on the movement of the pligrims through social media.

The Indian Railways have also introduced special trains for the devotees. Over 350 trains have been added for the pligrims who will leave after taking the final snan.
