Two days before a crucial meeting to choose the next Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, the current CM of state Shivraj Singh Chouhan posted a cryptic message on social media. The message read "Sabhi ko Ram-Ram" (Ram-Ram to all), accompanied by his picture, which sparked speculations about his future in the leadership role in the state.

State BJP chief VD Sharma refused to confirm Chouhan's position, stating that the decision ultimately rests with the party's central leadership. He said, "The three (central) observers will arrive in Bhopal on Monday morning. The MLAs will meet at 4 pm to elect their leader. Invitations have been sent to the MLAs. The process of the party would be followed and a decision will be taken."

'This is Ram's country', says BJP chief

Speaking to reporters, the state BJP chief said, "This is (Lord) Ram's country. On January 22, a grand idol of Lord Ram will be consecrated at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. We greet each other in the morning by saying 'Ram, Ram'. It is our culture to start the day with the name of Ram."

He also said that the party was a cadre-based organisation and all party workers will accept and respect decisions taken by the top leadership.

Who are BJP's observers in MP assembly polls?

Meanwhile, three central observers, including Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, BJP's OBC Morcha head K Laxman and its secretary Asha Lakra have been appointed to oversee the election of the legislature party leader in the state.
