The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to include a chapter on the Emergency period in the school curriculum. This inclusion is part of a broader initiative to incorporate significant historical and cultural topics into education. In addition to the Emergency, the curriculum will also feature lessons on prominent figures like Veer Savarkar, Lord Ram, and Lord Krishna, as well as other historical and religious content.

According to the details, the chapter will explain the ‘excesses and repression’ that happened during the Emergency, which was imposed in 1975 by the ruling government - Congress. As per Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the decision has been taken to make the present generation understand the struggle people faced during the ‘Emergency’ period from 1975 to 1977.

The statement from CM Yadav came while speaking at an event on Wednesday. CM also announced several additional facilities for "Loktantra Senanis" (democracy fighters) who were part in the struggle against Emergency, whose 50th anniversary was on June 25.

Furthermore, in case of severe medical issues, air ambulances will be made available to democracy fighters, and a 25% fare reduction will be extended to those who oppose emergencies.

Yadav also insisted that all preparations will be done with state honors for the final ceremonies of the "Loktantra Senanis." Furthermore, the amount that is currently paid to their families at the time of the funeral would be doubled from Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000. In addition, family members of those fighting for democracy will have access to job prospects by giving them the training they need to start businesses or industries.

In addition to this, in another significant step, CM Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government will no longer pay the income tax for ministers. The ministers will now be responsible for paying their income tax rather than the state government covering the expense.
