Madhya Pradesh: 15-20 cows allegedly thrown into river, video surfaces

New Delhi: A disturbing video has emerged from Satna district in Madhya Pradesh, allegedly showing people throwing cows into a swollen river. The footage, which has gone viral on social media, depicts a group of individuals tossing several cows into the raging waters. According to Satna police, the incident, which occurred on Tuesday, has resulted in the deaths of approximately 15 to 20 cows.

Case has been registered 

The video prompted immediate action from local authorities. An FIR has been lodged against four suspects namely Beta Bagri, Ravi Bagri, Rampal Choudhary and Rajlu Choudhary. Nagod police station in-charge Ashok Pandey stated, “Preliminary investigations suggest that 15 to 20 cows have perished, but we are still verifying the exact number.” The accused face charges under the Madhya Pradesh Gauvansh Vadh Pratishedh Adhiniyam, a law designed to prevent the killing of cows, as well as relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
