New Delhi: A shocking incident emerged from Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow where a 40-year-old woman has come forward with severe allegations against her husband. She accuses him of pressuring her into a physical relationship with an African man during their time in China, alongside numerous instances of dowry demands and harassment, including being forced to watch pornography. This woman is from the Naka area claims that her husband physically assaulted her and stole her money when she objected to his behavior.
In her report to the Naka police, the woman revealed that she managed to reach out to the Indian Embassy in China for assistance. With the embassy’s support, she was able to return to Lucknow and file a complaint. The embassy officials advised her to complain about India, leading to the registration of a case at the Naka police station.
According to the woman's complaint, she married a man from Ganesh Ganj in 2015. Her husband, who was employed by a company in China, allegedly coerced her family into paying Rs 15 lakh as a dowry within the first week of their marriage. Following his move to China, he returned after a month, during which he reportedly began a pattern of daily alcohol consumption and physical abuse.
The woman also alleged that after the birth of their daughter, both her husband and his family subjected her to mockery. She further claimed that during the COVID-19 pandemic, her husband confiscated her visa, air ticket and Rs 2 lakh, intensifying the dowry-related harassment from her in-laws.
The Naka police are currently investigating the woman's allegations. The case emphasizes on serious concerns about domestic abuse and dowry-related violence, underscoring the need for effective intervention and support for victims.
