UP News: A shocking incident from Lucknow has left many stunned after a 17-year-old boy, in collaboration with his friends, staged his own kidnapping in a bid to extort Rs 2 crore from his father. The boy, a resident of the Alambagh area, devised the plan with two friends who helped him fabricate the story and send a ransom message to his father.

Fake kidnapping plot unveiled

The teenager, whose father is a manager at a private company, left home on Friday and did not return. His mobile phone was switched off, leading his family to worry. After failing to reach him, the family filed a missing person report with the Alambagh police station.

Ransom demand raises alarms

As part of the plan, the boy's friends took his phone and sent a message to his father, demanding a ransom of Rs 2 crore. Terrified by the message, the father immediately contacted the police. The friends had locked the boy in an office in Sarojininagar, a facility they managed for installing CCTV cameras.

The police acted swiftly, tracing the location of the boy's phone. Upon reaching the office, they found the student locked inside and freed him. During interrogation, the boy confessed to the entire plot. Authorities arrested two of his friends while a third accomplice remains at large. No formal charges have yet been filed, and the police are continuing their investigation.
