In March, the same accused individuals allegedly fired bullets at him. However, despite the seriousness of the incident, the police reportedly did not file an FIR (First Information Report). Kavi Tiwari expressed his frustration over the police's leniency in handling such cases, as no arrests have been made so far.
The attack on Kavi Tiwari is believed to be in retaliation for his reporting on the criminal activities of the accused in the city. The brutal nature of the assault underscores the dangers faced by journalists who expose criminal elements in society.
This isn't the first instance where a journalist has found himself in trouble. Earlier, Mannu Awasthi, a journalist in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district was allegedly shot after he said his life was under threat for reporting on the 'land mafia' in Uttar Pradesh.
