New Delhi: In a shocking incident, an attempt was made to derail the Kalindi Express by placing an LPG cylinder on the railway tracks in the Shivrajpur area. The train, en route from Prayagraj to Bhiwani, struck the cylinder before coming to a screeching halt on Sunday morning, police reported.Attempt made to derail the Kalindi ExpressThe train hit the cylinder at around 8:20 AM, throwing it off the tracks due to the impact. Senior officials rushed to the site immediately after receiving the report, and an investigation was launched. Despite hitting the cylinder, the train avoided significant damage. The train was halted for about 20 minutes at the site and later stopped again at Bilhaur station for further investigation, ACP Chandra said.A damaged LPG cylinder, a bottle of petrol, and matchboxes were recovered from the scene, indicating a possible sabotage attempt. Authorities are working to identify the culprits behind this dangerous act, and they will be dealt with severely, according to police.Efforts are ongoing to ensure such attempts are prevented in the future, and authorities are taking the matter very seriously to safeguard rail passengers.
