New Delhi: In a small village within the Tarkulwa police station area of Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, a midnight meeting between a young couple quickly escalated into a disturbing incident. The girl, who had been in a relationship with a boy from the same neighborhood for some time, arranged a secret meeting with him in a garden on the outskirts of the village. The boy, eager to see her, arrived at the garden late at night, unaware of the trouble brewing nearby.

Village youths intervene

However, youths from the village, who had apparently caught wind of the planned rendezvous, decided to follow the couple. The youths confronted the couple in the garden and, without hesitation, began beating the young man with sticks. The girl was also subjected to the same treatment. The incident didn't stop there; the villagers informed the families of both the boy and the girl about what had transpired.

Marriage demands lead to standoff

The girl's family, upon learning of the incident, immediately insisted that the boy marry their daughter. However, the boy's family strongly opposed this sudden demand, leading to a heated dispute. The girl's family took matters into their own hands, holding the boy hostage overnight, refusing to release him until he agreed to marry their daughter.

Resolution without police involvement

The tense situation continued until the next day when both families finally reached a settlement, and the boy was released. Despite the seriousness of the incident, the local police were not involved. Station in-charge Mrityunjay Rai stated that no formal complaint had been filed, leaving the matter to be resolved privately by the families.
