Crime News: In a chilling tale of betrayal and manipulation, a love affair turned deadly in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, as a head constable allegedly murdered his girlfriend, a nurse, after she pressured him into marriage. The shocking incident, which unfolded over several months, highlights the grim realities of crime and justice in the region.

The tragic saga began when Shalu Tiwari's mother and brother embarked on a relentless quest for justice after her disappearance. Their desperate pleas and accusations against the constable initially fell on deaf ears, leaving the family in anguish and searching for answers.

Heartbreaking betrayal

Shalu, a dedicated nurse, fell prey to the manipulative charms of head constable Manoj Kumar, who falsely promised her marriage while concealing his existing marital status. When Shalu pressed him to fulfill his promise, Manoj resorted to extreme measures to silence her, ultimately leading to her untimely demise.

Tragic tale of Shalu Tiwari

In accordance with the report, Sangeeta, Shalu’s mother, asserted that Manoj had deceived her daughter, pledging marriage under false pretenses of being single. When Shalu insisted on marriage, Manoj confessed to being married with two children and residing in Jalesar, Etah.

Betrayal turns deadly

To evade accountability, Manoj hatched a sinister plot. On February 8, he convinced Shalu to accompany him on a trip to Ayodhya, but instead diverted her to his village in Etah alongside his accomplice Rahul, who operated the vehicle. There, the duo mercilessly murdered Shalu, discarding her body in a dry well. Returning to Kanpur, Manoj resumed his police duties, having recently been stationed there.

Ignored pleas for justice

Despite maintaining sporadic contact with her family while residing at the hospital, Shalu ceased communication for several days, prompting her mother and brother to investigate. Upon discovering her departure with Manoj, Sangeeta reported her daughter’s disappearance to the Barra police station. However, authorities merely filed a missing person report and refrained from interrogating Manoj, despite persistent appeals from the family.

The case took a pivotal turn when investigators tracked mobile locations. Following the discovery of Shalu’s body in the well on February 18, DCP Ravindra Kumar detailed how scrutiny of mobile data implicated Rahul. Interrogation and mobile records corroborated Rahul’s presence in Ayodhya and Etah, aligning with Shalu’s movements. This evidence culminated in the arrest of Manoj Kumar and Rahul for their involvement in Shalu’s tragic demise.
