In a shocking incident in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, a daughter has been detained for plotting with her boyfriend to kill her father. The murder took place early on Tuesday in the Bharauli Bazaar locality of Mahuabari. The police solved the case within 12 hours, and both the daughter and her boyfriend were arrested.
The victim, 65-year-old Udaybhan Yadav, lived in two houses in the same neighborhood. On the night of the murder, he had attended a dinner at a friend's place and returned home late. His daughter, who resided with him, called her uncle around midnight to report that her father was lying injured at home. Udaybhan was rushed to Maharshi Devraha Baba Medical College, where he was declared dead.
Police personnel, such as Kotwali in-charge Dilip Singh and ASP Deependra Nath Chaudhary, reached the spot on Wednesday morning. A dog squad and forensic team were sent to gather evidence. Suspicion fell on Udaybhan's daughter during interrogation, and she was detained. On further interrogation, important clues were found, and her boyfriend, Vishesh Kumar Gaud, was also arrested. Under pressure, both of them admitted to the crime.
The daughter had been dating Vishesh for a while, and her father had found out and disapproved. This created a grudge, and the daughter plotted with her boyfriend to kill her father. On the night of the murder, Vishesh was invited to the house, where he murdered Udaybhan using an axe. The daughter then dismissed Vishesh and told relatives that her father had been attacked by an unknown person.
The elder brother of Udaybhan had initially lodged a case against four people based on a land issue as the motive. The case was settled, however, with the confession of Udaybhan's daughter, clearing the name of the accused persons. Udaybhan's elder son is an engineer in Bhopal, and his elder daughter is a constable in the UP police.
