Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The Congress party, gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, has unveiled its fourth list of candidates, comprising 46 names. Among the notable inclusions are Congress leader Digvijay Singh, set to contest from the Rajgarh Lok Sabha Constituency, and Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai, who will be vying for the Varanasi seat.

The upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, commencing on April 19, mark the third occasion where Rai will contend against PM Modi in Varanasi.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, PM Modi emerged victorious over his closest competitor, Shalini Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, securing a lead of 4.80 lakh votes. Rai secured the third position, garnering 1,52,548 votes, equating to a vote share of 14.38%, while PM Modi commanded an overwhelming vote share of 63.62%.

The candidate roster encompasses individuals contesting from constituencies across Assam, Andaman, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal.

Noteworthy nominations include Karti Chidambaram for Tamil Nadu's Sivaganga, Manickam Tagore for Virudhnagar, and S Jothimani for Karur. Additionally, Danish Ali will contest from Uttar Pradesh's Amroha, Imran Masood from Saharanpur, and Alok Mishra from Kanpur.

Moreover, the Congress has ceded the Nagaur Lok Sabha seat in Rajasthan to Hanuman Beniwal's Rashtriya Loktantrik Party.
