INDIA bloc (Mahagathbandhan) in Bihar has come to a conclusion on seat-sharing for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024. According to the information, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will field its candidates from 26 seats, including Purnea and Hajipur. Congress has been assigned nine seats, including Kishanganj and Patna Sahib, while the Left has been given five seats, which includes CPI(ML) 3 and CPI and CPI(M) one each.

The statement from the alliance has come after RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav dismissed the claims of any rift between the party and Congress saying that they have reached the understanding on the seat sharing and same will be announced soon. However, as per sources, Congress has expressed displeasure on the seat sharing.

As per the announcement, the Congress has been made to give up the Purnea Lok Sabha seat, which recent entrant Pappu Yadav, husband of Rajya Sabha MP Ranjeet Ranjan, was hoping to contest, claiming that he had received assurance of Congress ticket from Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.

Notably, the Mahagathbandhan seat sharing in Bihar has come a day after the nomination papers were filed for the first phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

According to RJD, the party will soon announce the names of the candidates. CPI(M) and CPI(ML) has already announced the names.
