Addressing a press conference, Abdullah reiterated the party's stance on seat-sharing, stating firmly, "As far as seat sharing is concerned, NC will contest alone and there’s no doubt about it."

Last month, during an appearance on former Union Minister Kapil Sibal's YouTube channel, Abdullah emphasized the urgency of reaching a consensus within the opposition alliance. He stressed the need to prioritize the nation's welfare over individual differences, asserting, "To safeguard the nation, we must set aside our disagreements and prioritize the country's welfare."

He expressed confidence in the party's prospects, declaring plans to field candidates in all 13 constituencies in Punjab and one in Chandigarh for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
