Lok Sabha Elections 2024: BJP releases first list of candidates for these states

BJP CEC meeting regarding the Lok Sabha elections held at the party headquarters in Delhi comprised discussions on the seats of Lok Sabha across about 17 states and set seals on more than 155 seats.

The great brainstorming was completed in the BJP's Central Election Committee meeting last night. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to finalize the first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The meeting, which began around 10.30 pm, lasted for more than four hours, which was attended by leaders such as BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh.

According to the sources, BJP will contest elections alone on several seats and some with allies. 

Sources have claimed that the first list of 100 candidates may have several new faces. BJP's brainstorming has been completed on 56 seats of Uttar Pradesh along with Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Names of Candidates for Goa has also been decided. 

Here's the list of candidates that are likely to be in the list, as per sources:

Arjun Ram Meghwal, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, C P Joshi, Rajendra Rathore, Satish Poonia, Mahendra Jeet Malviya, Ramcharan Bohra, Kapil Mishra, Basuri Swaraj, Pravesh Verma, Ramesh Bidhuri.

Three MPs from Telangana G K Reddy, Arvind Dharmapuri, Sanjay Bandi will get tickets again.

From Uttarakhand, there is a possibility of changing names on all five seats. Deepti Rawat and Rekha Arya may get the ticket. Apart from former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, Suresh Bhatt can also enter the field.

In West Bengal, Locket Chatterjee, Roopa Ganguly, Raju Visht, Shantanu Thakur, Jagannath government, Nishit Pramanik, Dilip Ghosh.

From Tripura, Pratima Bhowmik, Jishnu Dev Verma can be among the candidates.

Sources also claim that agreement with allies on three seats in Assam and BJP will contest elections on remaining 11 seats.
