Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh steps back from Asansol candidancy

BJP released list of 195 candidates for Lok Sabha polls on Saturday evening, including 34 Union Minister ministers such as Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh. The BJP list also included 4 Bhojpuri actors Dinesh Lal Yadav, Pawan Singh, Ravi Kishan and Manoj Tiwari. Now, in the recent development, Bhojpuri singer and actor Pawan Singh who was initially announced as a candidate from Asansol in West Bengal, has decided to withdraw from the electoral race.

Pawan Singh made the announcement on social media platform, X. He thanked BJP top leadership for declaring him the candidate. The extact reason behind this move is not clear yet.

BJP released its first list of 195 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The BJP's first list included 51 seats from Uttar Pradesh, 24 from Madhya Pradesh, 20 from West Bengal, 15 each from Gujarat and Rajasthan, 12 from Kerala, nine from Telangana, 11 each from Assam, Chhattisgarh and Jhakhand, five from Delhi, three from Uttarakhand, two each from Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, one each from Goa, Tripura, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Daman and Diu.
