With the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 rapidly approaching, political tensions are rising. In the meanwhile, Samajwadi chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday announced the seat sharing plan saying that Congress party will contest 11 seats in Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. However, according to the sources, Congress has disagreed to the plan.

Taking it to his official X handle, Akhilesh Yadav tweeted, "Our cordial alliance with Congress is off to a good start with 11 strong seats… This trend will move forward with the winning equation. 'India' team and 'PDA' strategy will change history."

According to the sources, Congress has not agreed to the plan saying that the decision is Samajwadi Party's not Congress's. But no official statement from Congress has been surfaced yet.

Not only this, it is worth noting that this development coincides with anticipation that JD(U) president and chief minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, may do another U-turn and join the BJP-led NDA.

After cutting his connections with the BJP in August 2022, Kumar teamed up with the RJD, which was established by his erstwhile fierce opponent Lalu Prasad Yadav. After that, the chief minister of Bihar with the longest tenure started an initiative to unite all political parties in the nation against the BJP, which resulted in the creation of the opposition alliance INDIA.
