In a joint operation, the Army Intelligence and Agra Special Task Force (STF) apprehended Vikram Singh, a man accused of impersonating military personnel to defraud civilians. Singh allegedly used his false identity as a soldier to deceive people with promises of employment in the army canteen, extracting money under the pretense of securing these jobs.

According to officials, Singh had established a network through which he targeted job seekers by claiming connections with military recruitment. His approach involved luring unsuspecting individuals with the promise of stable employment, primarily focusing on army canteen positions, which are perceived as secure and well-paying. Singh’s activities had reportedly gone unnoticed for a period, during which he accumulated significant sums from multiple victims.

The Agra STF, collaborating with Army Intelligence, initiated a thorough investigation after receiving multiple complaints. They tracked Singh’s activities and his interactions with victims, which led to his eventual capture. Authorities are currently questioning him to uncover further details about his network and to identify any additional accomplices who may be involved in similar fraudulent activities.

This incident has raised concerns regarding such employment scams targeting the public by exploiting the reputation of the armed forces. Officials have advised the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious employment offers related to military or defense services. The investigation remains ongoing as the Agra STF continues to gather evidence and contact possible victims.
