It was revealed that Ghosh had constructed a sprawling multi-crore farmhouse-cum-bungalow on a two-bigha plot in Madhya Narayanpur three years ago. This property, named Sangeeta Sandip Villa, after Ghosh and his wife, reportedly served as a frequent retreat for the family, according to local residents cited in a News18 report.The bungalow is now a focal point in the investigation, with neighbors recounting regular visits from Ghosh and his family. The EDs search is part of a broader operation targeting nine locations in and around Kolkata, as authorities probe into suspected financial mismanagement at RG Kar Medical College during Ghoshs tenure as principal.Ties to Rape-Murder Case Intensify ScrutinyThe investigation into Ghoshs alleged financial misdeeds gained momentum following the tragic rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College on August 9. The crime, which occurred under Ghoshs administration, has led both the ED and CBI to intensify their investigations into potential financial misconduct at the state-run hospital.Comprehensive Raids Unveil Suspicious ActivitiesOn Friday, the ED filed an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), akin to a First Information Report (FIR), against Ghosh. The raids extended to his residence in Beliaghata, East Kolkata, where officers waited three hours before gaining access at 9:30 AM after Ghoshs wife arrived to unlock the premises. Further searches were conducted at dual apartments in Milan Palli near Airport Gate number 2, reportedly owned by Ghoshs relatives.During these searches, an ED officer was seen exiting one of the apartments with a black trolley bag.Simultaneously, the ED searched the residences of arrested medical equipment supplier Biplab Sinha and accountant Kaushik Koley in Howrahs Sankrail area.
