Another horrific incident has been reported from Maharashtra’s Bhiwandi where a 9-year-old girl was sexually molested and murdered with a sharp weapon. The body of the minor was recovered in the building where she lives, as per sources. Police have arrested a 45-year-old labourer who lived in the room where the body of a minor has been found.
After preliminary investigations, the police revealed that the girl’s family moved to the building almost a month ago as tenants. Police also uncovered that the accused used to ply the girl with sweets since the time family moved into the place, something that the girl’s family did not take too seriously.
When the incident happened the girl was alone at home and her parents were out for work whereas her elder brother was in school.
In the investigation, the police found that the labourer before killing the minor sexually assaulted her. The whereabouts of the girl came to light when her father came back home after work and found that the girl was missing from home. The neighbours also joined him in searching for her.
They found the labourer room latched from outside and the family found their daughter lying on the floor. Soon after the girl was rushed to the hospital, where she was declared dead. The hospital informed the family that the child had been sexually assaulted.
Soon after registering the case, police arrested the accused from a nearby power loom where he used to work. Meanwhile, the police is investigating the case.
