New Delhi: In a brazen daylight robbery, a scooter rider in Noida’s Sector 100 became the latest victim of the notorious KTM gang. The criminals, riding a KTM bike, snatched a gold chain from the unsuspecting victim. The entire incident, which took place within the jurisdiction of the Sector 39 police station, was captured on CCTV, providing crucial evidence for the authorities.

The CCTV footage shows two men on a KTM bike, both wearing helmets to conceal their identities. They slowly approached the scooter rider, swiftly snatched the gold chain, and fled the scene in an instant. Although the scooter rider attempted to give chase, the snatchers quickly sped away, evading capture. The KTM gang has been particularly active in Noida and Delhi, known for their audacious chain-snatching sprees.

Police crackdown leads to arrests

In a separate incident on May 18, a joint operation by Noida’s Sector 49 Police and the Delhi Police Crime Branch led to the arrest of two key members of the KTM gang. The duo, who have been involved in over 100 robbery and chain-snatching incidents across the National Capital Region (NCR), were arrested following an intense encounter. During the exchange of fire, one of the criminals, identified as Nazakat alias KTM alias Bhura, was shot in the leg. His accomplice, Harsh, was captured after a thorough combing operation.

The injured criminal was immediately admitted to the hospital for treatment. Authorities recovered two snatched gold chains, two mobile phones, illegal weapons, and the KTM bike used in the robberies from the duo. Both men have extensive criminal records, with over 70 cases registered against them.

Leader of KTM gang in custody

Nazakat, the leader of the KTM gang, has a notorious history of encounters with law enforcement. He faces charges under the Gangster Act and has been involved in multiple chain-snatching and robbery cases in Noida, Ghaziabad, Delhi, and the broader NCR region. DCP Noida Vidya Sagar Mishra confirmed that Nazakat has over 35 cases registered in Delhi alone, with a similar number of offenses recorded in Noida and Ghaziabad.
