Crime News: In a heart-wrenching incident in Rajasthan's Kota district, a young woman tragically ended her life by setting herself on fire. Her extreme step followed a harrowing ordeal where she was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted by a man from a powerful local family. According to her father's account in a letter addressed to the police, the woman was abducted from her home around 1:30 AM. Her family, upon realizing her absence, began a frantic search.

Their search led them to a nearby sweets shop owned by the accused's family, where they discovered the unthinkable - the accused was sexually assaulting their daughter while another relative stood guard at the door.

Tragic decision to end her life

In a bid to escape the ongoing assault and the traumatic situation, the woman managed to break free momentarily. She rushed back to her home and, in a state of distress, doused herself with diesel and set herself on fire.

Despite immediate efforts to save her, the woman succumbed to severe burn injuries at MBS Hospital. Her father, deeply aggrieved and seeking justice, has written a letter to the Superintendent of Police, Kota Rural, detailing the horrific sequence of events.

Allegations of local influence

In his letter, the grieving father has accused the accused's family of wielding significant influence in the area, which has allegedly prevented previous complaints against them from being pursued. As the community reels from the tragedy, local authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
