New Delhi: The father of a junior doctor, who was allegedly raped and murdered at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata, has accused the West Bengal government of orchestrating a cover-up. He claims that both the hospital administration and the medical department have conspired to hide the true circumstances surrounding his daughter’s death, expressing frustration with the slow progress of the investigation.

Unanswered Questions and Grieving Father's Anguish

More than a month after his daughter's tragic death, the father continues to struggle with the lack of clarity about the incident. “I can’t sleep. So many questions are haunting us. Who will answer them, and when, if the government itself is trying to downplay the incident and conceal facts? Why shouldn’t I suspect a conspiracy?" he questioned.

The victim's condition when she was found, according to her father, made it clear that a heinous crime had occurred. He expressed disbelief at the initial explanation provided by the authorities. "We were surrounded by doctors and police—people who are supposed to be experts—and yet, they told us she had committed suicide. How could they come to that conclusion so quickly?" he said.

Festivities Used as a Distraction, Claims Family

The family has also accused the West Bengal government of using the ongoing Durga Puja celebrations to divert public attention away from the case. “It’s been a month since our daughter’s death, and now the Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, is urging people to focus on the festivities. This is a deliberate tactic to shift attention from the investigation,” the father alleged.

CBI Probe Faces Challenges

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which has taken over the investigation, has indicated that evidence may have been tampered with. The victim’s father believes multiple individuals are involved in a larger conspiracy, including members of the hospital's administration. “I expect the CBI to bring to justice everyone involved, including the college principal and department staff," he added. Despite these claims, the CBI has reported facing significant challenges in connecting the dots to uncover the truth behind the crime.
