She also accused them of spreading misinformation on social media to obscure the truth about the alleged rape and murder of a female doctor.Banerjee demands justice for victimAddressing a rally, Banerjee expressed her outrage over the incident and demanded the death penalty for those responsible for the heinous crime. She praised the efforts of the Kolkata Police in their initial investigation, though the case was later transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) by the Calcutta High Court. Banerjee urged the CBI to resolve the case by Sunday and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.We want the truth to come out, but some quarters are spreading lies to mislead people. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and demands for better security measures at the state-run health facility.Vandalism linked to opposition nexusThe Chief Minister further claimed that the vandalism at the hospital was orchestrated by a nexus between the CPI(M) and BJP, aimed at destroying evidence related to the crime. According to her, the vandalism was a deliberate attempt to cover up the truth.On Thursday morning, a group of people reportedly entered the hospital and vandalized key areas, including the emergency department, nursing unit, and medicine store. They also damaged CCTV cameras and disrupted a protest staged by junior doctors who were demanding enhanced security in the wake of the tragic incident.
