The police, acting on a complaint from the victims family, charged him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and began a manhunt.On Thursday, receiving information that Ashrafi was returning to Tanur from Coimbatore, a police team lay in wait. Despite his attempt to flee upon spotting the police, Ashrafi was apprehended. He was later presented in a local court on Friday and remanded in judicial custody.Previous similar incident in KeralaThis incident echoes another disturbing event earlier this year in Kondotty, Malappuram, where a school teacher, Faisal, was arrested for molesting five girl students.
