Kerala cries! Many Keralites among 40 Indians died in Kuwait fire incident, 29-year-old Sajan George among them

Several Keralites lost their lives in the horrific Kuwait fire incident on Wednesday. Among them, Lucose was serving in NBTC Company as a supervisor for the last 18 years. Another deceased, Sajan George, an M.Tech graduate, was a native of Punalur in Kollam. Sameer, a 30-year-old heavy vehicle driver was among the deceased in the Kuwait fire tragedy.

The tragic fire incident that has claimed the lives of around 40 Indians in Kuwait fire incident, includes several people from Kerala. According to the recent update, two more deceased from Kerala have been identified in the tragic mishap after 30-year-old Shameer, hailing from Sooranad village in Kerala's Kollam district.

Two more deceased have been identified as Lucose (48) and Sajan George (29), who also hailed from Kollam.

According to the reports, Lucose has been serving in NBTC Company as a supervisor for the last 18 years. He left behind his wife, Shiny, and two children, Lydia and Lois. He was likely to visit India next week. Another deceased, Sajan George, an M.Tech graduate, was a native of Punalur in Kollam. He shifted to Kuwait just a month ago when he got a job to work as a junior mechanical engineer.

Sameer, a 30-year-old heavy vehicle driver was among the deceased in the Kuwait fire tragedy. His family learnt about his incident at around 11 am on Wednesday. Sameer moved to Kuwait five years back. According to his family, he came back two years back and got married, but moved back eight months back.

Several other people from Kerala also lost life in the horrific incident. Victim shared horrific experience.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the incident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the family of kin. Apart from this, the Indian embassy in Kuwait is closely monitoring the situation and working with concerned authorities to bring back the mortal remains of the victims.

An emergency cabinet meeting convened by the Kerala government is underway. The meeting will discuss the repatriation of bodies and whether any ministers need to go to Kuwait to coordinate relief efforts. The meeting is chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
