Kerala blasts: A series of explosions at a convention centre in Kerala, resulting in one fatality and several injuries, spurred Union Home Minister Amit Shah into immediate action.

Upon receiving reports of the multiple blasts at the Zamra International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Kalamassery, Ernakulam district, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan alerted Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Swift Orders for NIA and NSG Investigation

Union Home Minister Amit Shah promptly issued instructions for the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the National Security Guard (NSG), two central agencies specialized in anti-terror investigations, to mobilize their expert teams and commence a thorough inquiry at the explosion site.

Government's Response

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed deep concern over the incident, terming it unfortunate. The state government is treating the matter with utmost seriousness, and all high-ranking officials have been dispatched to Ernakulam. The state's Director General of Police (DGP) is en route to the scene. Further details will be obtained as the investigation progresses.

Opposition Leader's Account

Kerala's Leader of the Opposition and the state president of the Congress, VD Satheesan, disclosed that there were two blasts, the first being substantial and the second of a minor nature. Regrettably, one woman lost her life, and 25 individuals were hospitalised. Of those hospitalised, six are in the ICU. Approximately 2,000 people were present at the event.
