Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will not appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday for questioning in a money laundering case linked to the Delhi excise policy, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said.

The party also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging he wants to topple the Delhi government.

"Delhi CM and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal will not appear before ED today as well. The party calls the summon 'unlawful'. We will comply with the lawful summons. PM Modi's aim is to arrest Arvind Kejriwal and topple the Delhi Government. We will not allow this to happen," the AAP stated.

According to AAP sources, Delhi Chief Minister and party convener Arvind Kejriwal is unlikely to appear before the ED on Friday for questioning in the money laundering case connected to the Delhi excise policy.

The ED on Wednesday issued a fresh fifth summons to Kejriwal after he skipped four previous summonses from the probe agency over the last four months.

Earlier, the AAP said its legal team was reviewing the summons issued to Kejriwal regarding the excise policy-linked money laundering case.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal is scheduled to participate in a protest along with Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann outside the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters on Friday against the alleged rigging in Chandigarh mayoral elections.
