Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has skipped a seventh summons for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over alleged irregularities in the 2021-22 liquor policy.

In a statement, Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party said he would not appear as the matter remains sub-judice. "The issue is in court with the next hearing scheduled for March 16th. Rather than sending summons daily, the ED should await the court's order," it said.

The ED has since filed a complaint against Kejriwal for "disobeying" its summonses. However, a Delhi court has granted him an exemption from personally appearing until the 16th. Kejriwal had cited Assembly budget sessions preventing his availability.

The AAP linked the pressures from central agencies to its inclusion in the opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance bloc. "We won't leave the INDIA alliance just because the central government tries to put pressure on us like this," it said.

Kejriwal has dismissed seven ED summons as "illegal" since last November, asking for them to be withdrawn. He had been expected to address the Assembly on Monday before leading AAP lawmakers to Raj Ghat, marking one year since his former deputy Manish Sisodia was jailed over the scrapping of the liquor policy.

Delhi BJP leader Harish Khurana said the CM was avoiding investigation by skipping the summons. Meanwhile, the Delhi BJP President called it "shameful" to mark the anniversary of someone's jailing for corruption allegations. He said: "The people of Delhi will not forgive the Chief Minister."
