In a startling claim on Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal alleged that he is being pressured to join India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His comments came amid an ongoing investigation into the Aam Aadmi Party's accusations that the BJP attempted to bribe its legislators to switch parties.

"They can hatch any conspiracy against us; I am also firm. I am not going to bend. They are asking me to join BJP, then they are going to leave me alone. But I said that I will never go to BJP, I will never join BJP, not at all," Kejriwal told the crowd during a speech at the foundation stone laying of a new school in Rohini, Delhi.

The Delhi Chief Minister went on to criticize the BJP-led central government, claiming it only allocates 4% of the national budget to schools and hospitals, compared to the Delhi government's 40% annual expenditure on these areas.

Kejriwal also referenced his jailed AAP colleagues Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain, stating "Sisodia's fault is that he was building good schools. Jain's fault is that he was getting good hospitals and clinics built. Had Sisodia not been working to improve schools, he would not have been arrested."

Kejriwal implored the gathered crowd to continue showing him love and support, saying he desires nothing else. His remarks on Sunday followed Delhi Police visiting AAP Minister Atishi's residence to serve a notice regarding the poaching accusations, which she was not home to receive.

Kejriwal himself was also served notice on Saturday and given three days to provide information on the claims, including the names of AAP legislators allegedly approached.

The AAP has alleged the BJP attempted to bribe seven of its MLAs to switch parties, which the BJP denies. The investigation into the claims is ongoing amid a heated political atmosphere in the capital.

Kejriwal maintains the probes are politically motivated conspiracies targeting his party's progress.
