Kaushambi horror: Mother, son killed with axe over alleged affair; Police officers suspended

A shocking double murder case has emerged from Kaushambi, where a young man and his mother were brutally hacked to death with an axe over suspicions of an illicit relationship. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene, took custody of the bodies, and launched an investigation.

A ghastly double murder case has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district, where a man and his mother were brutally hacked to death with an axe on the grounds of an extramarital affair. The crime has left the local people in shock, and the police took immediate action.

The brutal killing was committed at the Kaju village, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajesh Kumar claimed. Sunny is a resident of the village. He suspected his sister was keeping an illicit affair with one fellow named Kallu, alias Sarvjeet. Resenting this notion, Sunny, Shravan, and their mother Shanti Devi hatched a plan for an attack.

Brutal axe attack kills two

The three went into Kallu's home late one evening and engaged in a heated fight. They, in anger, brutally assaulted Kallu with an axe. Kallu's mother, Sangeeta, attempted to save him but was herself brutally assaulted. The victims were left badly injured.

When alerted, the police rushed to the crime scene and took the seriously hurt mother and son to the district hospital. Both, however, lost their lives late at night due to their injuries while being treated.

Police investigation and arrests

After the incident, the police filed an immediate case against Sunny, Shravan, and Shravan's mother, Shanti Devi. One of the accused, Shravan Kumar, is already in police custody, while attempts are on to arrest the other suspects. Moreover, police officials have taken strict action against police personnel for negligence. Three police personnel, including the station in-charge, have been suspended for not preventing the incident. For a proper investigation, Superintendent of Police (SP) Brijesh Kumar Srivastava has constituted four special teams to investigate the case.

This tragic event reflects the deplorable consequences of suspicion and unrestrained wrath. While the probe is ongoing, authorities are trying to apprehend the culprits and make them accountable to the victims and their grieving relatives.
