On Sunday, April 14, Karnataka police apprehended Pradeep, a Bengaluru resident, in connection with the alleged murder of his partner, Ruksana. Pradeep faces charges under sections 302 (punishment for murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of an offense) of the Indian Penal Code.

The incident dates back to March 31, when law enforcement discovered the charred remains of 21-year-old Ruksana.

Investigations reveal that Pradeep entered into a relationship with Ruksana under the guise of marriage. Their acquaintance began while Ruksana was employed in Mysuru, and the couple had a child together. However, Pradeep declined to formalize the relationship through marriage, citing an existing marital status with another woman.

Despite Pradeep's refusal, Ruksana persistently visited his Bengaluru residence, urging him to marry her. Frustrated with the ongoing pressure, Pradeep confessed to the police that he decided to end her life.

Authorities disclosed that Pradeep took Ruksana and their child to his native village in Kadur. During their return journey to Bengaluru, Pradeep committed the murder and then proceeded to incinerate Ruksana's body near Tumkuru. Subsequently, he abandoned the infant on a pushcart in Bengaluru.

Fortunately, the pushcart owner discovered the baby and promptly handed him over to the Bagalagunte police station in Bengaluru north.
