Karnataka: NIA carries out raids at 6 locations in LeT prison radicalisation case

The federal agency's teams seized digital devices, various incriminating documents, and cash amounting to Rs 7.3 lakhs during the raids.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided multiple locations across Bengaluru in a case related to the radicalisation of prisoners by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists in Karnataka.

A spokesperson of NIA stated that as part of extensive search operations raids were carried out on six locations, including the houses of four accused. Although one of them managed to run away. 

The other locations that were raided were premises connected with two other suspects.

Meanwhile, the federal agency's teams seized digital devices, various incriminating documents, and cash amounting to Rs 7.3 lakhs during the raids. As per ANI reports, raids were conducted at the premises of Mohammed Umar, Mohammed Faisal Rabbani, Tanveer Ahmed and Mohammed Farooq, as well as absconder Junaid Ahmed.

The reports further mentioned that three accused are still absconding in the case, while a case has been registered under various IPC, UA(P) Act, 1967 and Explosive Substances Act, 1884.
