Siddaramaiah Security Breach: Koppal Police have issued a notice to BJP leader and Gangavathi MLA, Gali Janardhana Reddy, for allegedly violating security protocols during Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s recent visit to the district. The incident involved a breach of security measures while the chief minister’s convoy was en route to the Ginigera airstrip.
According to police reports, three vehicles, including Reddy's car, were involved in the violation. Reddy was seated in the front seat of his vehicle, which reportedly came onto the wrong side of the road, followed by two additional cars driven by his supporters. This action occurred while the chief minister’s convoy was passing by, heading towards the airstrip from Gangavathi.
Despite warnings from the police, Reddy's car mounted the road divider and proceeded to drive in the opposite direction, directly towards the CM's convoy. The convoy was stopped by traffic police, who allowed it to pass safely after halting the three cars.
Notices have been served to all three car owners involved in the incident, including Reddy. The Koppal Police have booked the individuals under Sections 279 and 281 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), citing charges of rash driving and driving on the wrong side of the road.
The violation has raised concerns, as the cars not only ignored traffic rules but also defied police orders, endangering the security of the chief minister. Despite repeated requests from the police to follow the protocols, the vehicles continued in the wrong direction, creating a potential threat to the CM's convoy.
