Kanpur: A tragic and deeply disturbing incident has come to light in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where two young cousins were found hanging from a tree late Wednesday night. The victims, both minors, were discovered in a field near a brick kiln, distance away from where they had been residing.According to reports, the distressing chain of events began with the exploitation and harassment of the girls by a contractor. Allegedly, the contractor secretly filmed one of the minors bathing and subsequently used the video to manipulate and exploit both cousins. Family members have accused three individuals, including the contractor, with the charges of gang rape and murder. Police arrested all three suspects.Dead bodies found hanging from plum treeFamily members said that on Wednesday, everyone had dinner together in the evening. Following this, both the cousin sisters suddenly disappeared due to self-guilt. When both were searched, nothing was found.Late in the night, the bodies of both minors were found hanging from a plum tree by the local people. On receiving information about the incident, forces from several police stations including Ghatampur reached the spot. Tragically, the victims, aged 16 and 14, respectively, were daughters of these laborers, becoming unwitting victims of exploitation and violence.Awaiting the results of the postmortem examination, authorities have filed charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Contractor assaulted and made obscene videosFamily members recount the harrowing tale of the contractors despicable actions and recounted how he filmed the minors bathing and proceeded to subject them to coercion using obscene material.Matters escalated when contractors Ram Rauf, Rajjo, and Sanjay came into the room and drank alcohol. After this all three committed gangrape and made obscene videos. When the family returned from shopping, the cousins narrated their incident. The family of minors returned from a shopping trip and protested against this act, they were beaten up.
