Tamil Nadu police recently arrested a man after CCTV footage emerged of him brutally assaulting his 63-year-old father over a property dispute. The father recently died of a heart attack, leading to suspicions regardin the son's involvement in his demise. The incident took place in Krishnapuram in Perambalur district on February 16, where 40-year-old K Santosh attacked his father A kulandaivelu.
This incident of beating was captured in CCTV. After the CCTV footage went viral from April 25, the police investigated the incident under the leadership of Attur DSP Satish Kumar. It was found that the incident took place in Perambalur area. The video was widely circulated on social media, shows the son raining blows with both his fists on his father, who was sitting in a chair. The aged man fell unconscious because of the assault.
It is alleged that Shaktivel asked his father to transfer some property including sago plant in his name. The father refused. It is alleged that the son went to his father's house in Perambalur on February 16 and beat him brutally. He was taken to the hospital and died during treatment on April 18.

The police have registered a case under Sections 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (Voluntarily hurting with a dangerous weapon) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
