Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday assured travellers that all the stakeholders at the Delhi airport are ‘working round the clock’ and ‘trying their best’ to make sure that the passengers do not face any inconvenience after hundreds of flights get cancelled or delayed due to dense fog in the national capital. Situation though improved on Monday.
Visuals at the airport also shows people waiting for the status of the flight, waiting in the queue for the long hours.
Taking it to his official X handle, Scindia mentioned, “Yesterday, Delhi witnessed unprecedented fog wherein visibility fluctuated for several hours, and at times, dropped to zero between 5 AM to 9 AM. The authorities, therefore, were compelled to enforce a shut-down of operations for some time even on CAT III runways (CAT III runways cannot handle Zero-Visibility operations). The decision was taken keeping passenger safety in mind, which remains the foremost priority for all in the aviation ecosystem.”
