A shocking video from a high school in Bihar has gone viral, showing two boys writing their exam with a pistol on the desk. This alarming footage has raised concerns about the influence of criminal elements on young students, particularly during their formative high school years, when they are vulnerable to such negative influences for financial gain. The incident has created an uproar among the education department and police authorities.

Incident at Kaindi High School

The viral video is reported to be from Kaindi High School in Halsey Block. In the video, a pistol is clearly visible on the desk between two examinees during an ongoing exam. The presence of the weapon went unnoticed by the invigilators and others present during the exam. According to local sources, the video was uploaded as a reel on Facebook, adding to its rapid spread. The student in the video is believed to be from Kaindi village, although the exact timing and authenticity of the video have not been confirmed by Live Hindustan.

School and Police Response

Efforts to contact police officials for their comments were unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Ranjana Kumari, the school principal, claimed to be unaware of the video's existence. She stated, "If the viral video is made available, the student will be identified, and necessary action will be taken."

Rising Crime Among Minors in Bihar

The incident highlights a broader issue of increasing juvenile delinquency in Bihar. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), crimes committed by minors in Bihar saw a significant rise in 2022 compared to 2021. This trend is in stark contrast to the national decrease in juvenile crime rates. In 2022, Bihar registered 1,052 criminal cases involving minors, including 35 cases of murder, 72 of attempted murder, 57 of kidnapping, 6 of rape, 239 of theft, 65 of burglary, 2 of ransom and blackmail, 66 of robbery, and 3 of dacoity. This marks a notable increase from the 732 cases recorded in 2021 and 827 in 2020.
