Muzaffarnagar crime news: In a shocking incident, a Maulvi in Muzaffarnagar has been accused of sexually assaulting a 34-year-old woman under the pretense of exorcising a "jinn." The alleged assault took place after the woman visited the cleric alone, following his instructions, and was reportedly threatened with blindness if she resisted.

Allegations and complaint filed

The victim, a Delhi resident, filed a complaint with Muzaffarnagar police, alleging that Maulvi Irshad had lured her into meeting him privately, claiming she was possessed and needed his help to be "cleansed." Initially, the woman visited him with her five sisters, but the Maulvi allegedly refused to perform any rituals in front of others. He provided her with his phone number, directing her to come alone on another day.

On her return visit, Irshad allegedly took her from the Saharanpur bus stand to his residence. According to her statement, he convinced her that she was under a harmful influence and needed purification. During this time, he allegedly gave her water containing intoxicants and then assaulted her. When she attempted to resist, he threatened her, saying she would lose her eyesight. The woman contacted the police via UP-112, leading to an investigation and a team assembled for the Maulvi’s arrest. CO City Vyom Bindal has confirmed that an arrest is expected shortly.
