A distressing incident has been reported from Mauganj district in Madhya Pradesh, where a minor was allegedly raped inside an ambulance. Police have registered a case against four individuals, including the victim’s cousin, her brother-in-law, her uncle, and the ambulance driver.
Law enforcement officials have arrested the ambulance driver and the victim’s brother-in-law, while efforts are underway to apprehend the other two accused. The brother-in-law, identified as the husband of the victim’s cousin, is also the son-in-law of the accused uncle, highlighting the familial connection in the case.
According to police, the crime occurred on November 22. Deputy Inspector General Saket Prakash Pandey stated that the victim disclosed during questioning that her cousin invited her for a family trip. During the journey, her cousin’s husband allegedly raped her in the rear of the ambulance. The victim filed an official complaint on November 25, naming all four individuals involved.
Additional Superintendent of Police Anurag Pandey confirmed that the ambulance, a "Janani Express" emergency vehicle used in the crime, has been seized. He added, "Efforts are ongoing to track down the remaining suspects, and strict action will be taken."
The victim was dropped off at her home early the next morning, where she confided in her mother about the ordeal. The family then reported the incident to the police. ASP Pandey further clarified, "Although the rape charge is specific to one person, others present during the crime are also being held accountable for their complicity."
