Jharkhand News: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of creating communal discord in the state ahead of the upcoming elections. Soren compared the RSS to "rats" and blamed both the BJP and its ideological affiliate for attempting to disrupt the peace between communities for electoral gain.

Soren's bold allegations against RSS, BJP

Addressing a virtual rally from Ranchi, Soren did not hold back in his criticism of the BJP, particularly accusing the party of orchestrating divisions between Hindu and Muslim communities in Jharkhand. He pointed to the involvement of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, saying that the BJP is attempting to ignite tensions across religious lines.

"RSS is invading the state like rats and destroying it," Soren said during the rally in Sahibganj. "They want to create communal disturbances ahead of elections for their political gains. We must chase them away when they come into our villages."

Warnings of provocative incidents

Soren warned that the BJP might incite incidents such as the desecration of religious sites by throwing meat into temples and mosques, a tactic aimed at sparking conflict. He also accused the BJP of being a party that serves the interests of "traders and industrialists," buying political leaders to further its agenda. This was likely a reference to former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, who recently defected to the BJP.

BJP’s obstruction of tribal rights

The Jharkhand CM also questioned why the BJP had failed to grant the long-demanded tribal religion code, which has been a pressing issue for the state’s indigenous communities. He criticized the party for neglecting tribal rights, not just in Jharkhand but in Assam as well. "Why are our tribal brothers and sisters in Assam denied their rights?" Soren questioned, while also dismissing BJP's claims about demographic changes in Jharkhand.

Soren's sharp rhetoric reflects the increasing tensions between the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the BJP as the state gears up for elections. He concluded by urging the people of Jharkhand to resist these forces and protect their communal harmony.
